I have performed this song more than any other song I've written, by a long shot. This is a previously unheard early version (unless you've loaned the EP out from the Brunswick Public Library); with a kazoo; a kazoo gaffer taped to a broom.
For added measure, here are the notes from the Sackville Off Gold EP cover.

Recorded in mono, live to disk @ The Collingwood Hilton 23-25 May 2001, using a Sony minidisk Walkman (hold your mouth right to get it to record), Peavey KB/A 30 mixer amp and AKG D880 microphone. Jeremy uses a Takamine & Larrivée guitars, executive model tin Kazoo, Reebok runners, The Yellow Pages (K-Z), boom mic stand, standard issue human vocal chords, squeeze type mop and gaffer tape.
For your purest listening pleasure this recording features no splicing, dicing or post production.

Sigh. If I try to be lo-fi, It becomes quickly apparent that I’m not destined to wear street cred convincingly (even saying street cred prohibits any kind of hip-ness at all). If I aim for hi-fi then all the glaring shortfalls in my home grown, self-taught, idiosyncratic musical style show through; I might be onto something but I'd just need to get good enough for us to be able to really tell.
Terry Venemous is releasing new music every 3 weeks this year. His latest EP is sumptuous art pop with a wry sense of detachment.
