Jazz Ramble was released on Level Up, 2008. The words are a bit of prose I wrote sitting at Flinders St. Station on a week day morning. Me and my bike were making our way from Brunswick to work at Whitehorse Music in Box Hill. Floods of people coming to work in the city, with their heads down, gave me train station rage, as I was unable to get me and my bike up onto the platform to catch my train, similarly to work. Then one woman looked up smiled and stepped aside. If only there were more people like you, the world would be a better place.
Level Up was one big unintentional experiment, 4 years in the non-making. Non-making? Yeah I wasn't making an album, I was mucking around. Then I thought I'll make a boxed 4 CD set, each CD individually themed to group the mash up of stuff that was a result of searching for something, into some kind of coherence. Unlike that sentence. I wanted to call it 4. Have only the number on each CD and that's it. I priced the manufacture 4 CD boxed sets, yikes; a friend pointed out that not putting the artists name anywhere on the CD was probably not good 'marketing'. Thus 4 got dropped and became Level Up.
