Minimalist was the first track I remember writing and recording. It was probably @ 112 A Lichfield St, Christchurch, 1990. Lichfield St is long since gone, the earth opened up and swallowed it which was fair retribution in my opinion as one-one-two had opened up and swallowed me. It's the food chain.
This track is a mash up of the original 'song', this time with no lyric, though the original musical idea does get a reprise towards the end of this recording. Alex Henderson loaned me a 1950's(I don't know this for sure but it sounds impressive) Kiwi made valve amp, maybe a Jansen which is what's behind that guitar noise. Probably through my Boss Turbo Distortion, though I think I had a translucent green Ibanez Tube Screamer too at some point round when this was probably recorded. I recon there's an Ibanez Flanger too. This recording was made upstairs at 384 Gloucester St, Christchurch, in probably '94-'95. It was dubbed, layer by layer from one cassette deck to the other and back again using a Casio CK-500 and features the unmistakable tone of a 1lt milk carton as the snare drum, augmenting the Casio's built in beats.

My landlord @ 384, Paddy, was in his 90's and had raised 13 kids firstly mining for gold in Central Otago and laterly running a Fish'n'Chip shop. I liked him, he was old School.
